I am a visionary; I have a vision for a world without cancer, but I need your help.

This year, I’m proud to be a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Student Visionaries of the Year Campaign, working to raise as much as possible for LLS’s mission.

Sometimes life tends to throw things your way that you feel you have no capacity to hold. This year I realized anything can happen to anyone at any time. Life is fragile and can be lost or broken at any moment. Cancer is the second largest cause of death in America, right behind heart disease. The leading children's cancer is Leukemia. I know that when I hold myself to the truth seeing things like this devastates me. When you see a children's hospital looking for donations on TV, the truth is that you are prone to feel guilty. I can tell you that this feeling of guilt shows that you have a good heart. There are many bad things in this world and we tend to look the other way if we are not directly affected. What I can tell you is that at some point in your life, someone you care very deeply about is going to get sick, that's the way the world works. When this happens you are going to plead for a cure and a quick recovery. That's what LLS does. They support patients in their journey to recovery and are in search of new cures. That's what your donations are going towards, helping young children get the chance to reconnect with their schoolmates and get back into the world. You have the chance to change a child and their family's life and allow them to excel in their childhood wonders. So take that guilt and turn it into dignity by donating to this amazing cause.
